Jill Scott on Bill Cosby: The media is trying to destroy his magnificent legacy

Jill Scott is a firm believer in the principle of presumption of innocence and she proved as much today when she got into a bit of a tiff with her Twitter followers over the Bill Cosby rape allegations. Of course that stamp of approval led many to lash out at the singer and accuse her of victim blaming. And though Jill’s initial response was “We will respectfully have to agree to disagree,” she soon began providing more detailed explanations of her support of Bill Cosby. When one follower said she was hurt by her position, Jill responded with, “hurt? By an opinion? I’ve been a solider on many levels for women. I know rape but I’m also aware of propaganda.” The debate went on from there:

But Jill kept her calm in a debate with one woman, refusing to accept that her support of Bill Cosby’s legacy is akin to telling women not to come forth after they’ve been raped.
